What to expect @ SoCal Kids Counseling
Therapy is….
A team effort. We work together as a team to understand the source of the anxiety or difficult feelings and learn strategies to help you and your child feel better.
Most effective with parent involvement. Parents, be prepared to implement changes at home in order to see lasting changes in your kids.
Based on trust, which takes time to build.
Between 2 humans. Your therapist is a human too and sometimes makes mistakes, if you feel that something your therapist said didn’t feel good, it is ok to say so. Feedback makes us better at our jobs.
Therapy is not….
A quick fix. It will require patience and time to reach your goals.
Just for venting; it also includes time to set goals and learn new strategies.
A forever thing. Our goal is to find ways to deal with emotions and behavior and help you graduate out of therapy into your everyday life.
“Happiness can always be found, even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.”
- Dumbledore
“Great thing often start out small.”
- Roald Dahl
“And when things start to happen, don’t worry. Don’t stew. Just go right along. You’ll start happening too.”
- Dr. Seuss
